About Us SFCBLA's History Founded in 2005, the South Florida Carnival Band Leaders Association, Inc (SFCBLA) is a not for profit organization whose main purpose is to promote educational, cultural, social, and recreational activities pertaining to the Caribbean Carnival and to foster respect and cultural growth between the diverse ethnicity in South Florida. The SFCBLA also works to ensure Carnival mas bands and masqueraders are not exploited by promoters and other entities. The Vision The SFCBLA vision is to contribute to the multiculturalism, diversity and inclusive community building of South Florida, providing a unique perspective and experience to visitors and tourists. SFCBLA vision is to help brand a city competitively in the minds of many companies when thinking of a host city for their events. SFCBLA vision is to help increase revenues such as (sales and occupancy) taxes for the local government, hotels, restaurants, transportation, retail, and entertainment businesses. Jr. Kids Bands Become a Sponsor/Partner Education SFCBLA Proceeds Fund the SFCBLA Kids Camp where kids of all ages will be taught the Carnival Culture. They will have the opportunity to design and create their own costumes and display them at the fashion show at the end of the Camp. This can open the doors to entrepreneurial opportunities for the children. Fund the SFCBLA Community Center which will be a stable venue for carnival events and programs that will educate the community and provide income to fund the expenses of the association. Sponsorship offers multiple opportunities to get your brand and message in front of event attendees. Make an immediate and lasting impact and promote your brand and key message over the Miami Carnival Weekend to around 2000 people. The SFCBLA Showcase Partnerships may include a combination of the following benefits: Passes to the SFCBLA Showcase , invitations to the After Party, banner and link on SFCBLA website, inclusion in SFCBLA Showcase promotional materials, signage on designated activity or area, complimentary exhibit space, sampling and on-stage opportunities to speak to the attendees. Jr. Kids Band SFCBLA Carnival Showcase The purpose of the SFCBLA Showcase is to display the carnival bands and masqueraders to the community preceding the Miami Carnival. The showcase gives the community a firsthand experience of the diverse offerings of the culture and artistic expressions found in the Caribbean carnival community. The showcase is an opportunity for the next generation to broaden their horizon and gain unique insights into their own communities as well as a broader global perspective of our world’s diverse cultures. We will also launch our Designers' Challenge and present our official Brand Ambassadors for 2024. On May 4th, we will close out the 2 day event with a new and improved Showcase of the Carnival costumes for the 2024 Miami Carnival parades, both Junior and Senior.
